The Voucher Process
Once you complete the application process and your voucher has been approved, you will receive a voucher to obtain a telephone. Take the voucher to your dealer of choice and use the voucher toward your purchase.
How does the Voucher Work?
The voucher system allows you to choose what best works for you in
telephone communication. Vouchers cover 95 percent of the average cost
for a specialized telephone device. You are responsible to pay for the
difference, if any. If the equipment you are requesting is a Captioned
Telephone (CapTelTM), the voucher process is a bit different. Click

Prices are subject to change. You may choose items that exceed the standard equipment amount and pay the difference. For equipment selections that retail over $1,000, vouchers are offered at 99 percent of the average cost.
If you are approved, you can expect your voucher within one week along with a list of dealers where you can purchase your telephone equipment throughout the state or through mail order. These dealers can also offer assistance in choosing the best telephone equipment to meet your needs. Your voucher will be accepted by these dealers who are registered with TAI as a form of payment for the products you choose to buy.
Once you receive the equipment, it becomes your own property and any usage or repairs become your responsibility. It might be a good idea to check out the Dealer’s Return Policy and ask for extended warranty since you may only apply for a voucher for telephone equipment every five years.
